Somebody Sedate Me...

So...a few things:

  1. Thanksgiving ordering is now available online.  I feel like we were just having this conversation, except that was 2016 and I don't even know what has happened to all the days and months of this year.  Someone cue up Time In A Bottle and bring me a glass of wine.  New this year is the option to purchase your Thanksgiving pies unbaked and frozen.  You'll receive a 15% discount if you pick up by November 18th AND you'll avoid the throngs of people picking up pie immediately before the holiday.  Of course, you are always welcome to call the store to order as well.  Or email.  Or send a carrier pigeon.  Or write it in a marker on a bottle of Muscato and drop that off.  (Preferably a full bottle.  We have glasses at the store.)
  2. Thursday's October Epic Pie Tasting is completely sold out as of a few weeks ago and I just keep forgetting to mention it.  People keep calling to buy tickets and then I feel bad (which really just means I oversold it).  Costumes are strongly encouraged, except when it comes to me because I am not a costume person.  This likely means I will be standing in JoAnn's in a panicked state late in the afternoon on Thursday as I look for something that suffices as dress-up.  Though, rarely have I ever been to JoAnn's NOT in a panicked state, so at least that part will feel normal.
  3. And speaking of calendar items, we will be at the Creekside Pet Center's Petacular next Saturday, November 4th.  There will be food trucks, vendors, and plenty of cats and dogs available for adoption, so you should come.  Our goal is to sell some tarts and not have Team PJP come home with eleven new cats and dogs between us all.
  4. And finally, we are 88% convinced to Kickstart the pie truck because we are, at our core, 88% CRAZY.  And if we weren't, then who would we really even be?  The other 12% has been dedicated to some rational conversation about the logistics of owning the cutest pie truck ever.  The opponents to our crazy side leanings have asked the hard questions (like when the tires were replaced last on it), the reasonable questions (where we would take it) and then boring questions (how much is insurance on it).  And in short order, the answers are:  last October, all the places, and who knows.  But then thinking about rolling into events, well, it makes me almost a solid 90%...
