24/7

We've arrived at that time of year where we are basically PJP 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  Which is sort of funny only because it feels that way all year until it actually is that way in the fall.  So, here's the breakdown from the last few days...

  1. On Saturday, we baked a lot of pies for orders, weddings, and a busy day for the storefront.  Jeanne and I hustled into PJP super early so that we could leave PJP earlier than normal to host a "we are really going to bake a lot of pies in the next two months" bonfire for Team PJP.  And that's only worth mentioning because if you look at the same people all week and still want to roast marshmallows together on Saturday, then that's something, right?
  2. On Sunday morning, Jeanne and I met Marshall Byler from Byler Media to film a 30 second video that will accompany our HSN application (except it took about two hours to create 30 seconds).  I'll clearly never be an actress if pies don't work out because it took me at least 15 takes to say 27 seconds about PJP in a fun and emotive voice without stumbling over my words.  (I really wish I would have had a "PJP, Take 5" person).  And then we made some cherry Jelly Jar pies for some great background footage to accompany my 27 second emotive voiceover.  The application is due on Wednesday, so I've been working away on the rest of it and I'll bet you a million dollars that Marshall is toiling away with his editing equipment, even as I type this.
  3. And then today, I did 489 PJP things that weren't interesting...but one thing that was:  we took a FaceTime tour of the pie truck that The Pie Hole is selling.  In case you need a reminder...And OH MY GOSH...even better on FaceTime than we planned.  Between you and me, I hoped it would be a busted up mess on the inside so that we could take it out of consideration and stop thinking about it.  Alas, NOPE...SUPER CUTE.  It is clean (like, Jeanne standards clean), spacious, organized, and well...just really adorable.  And the owner, Lauren, was super cute too and her love for her truck made us want to love it too.  We have no clue what we are going to do.  Smart girls would realize they have enough on their agenda for now.  Crazy girls would begin plotting how to raise $18,000.  I'm not sure where we fall just yet...
