Before 2018...

So, I don't even know how to start this post...primarily because I've never been in the position to have time to post anything on the Monday before Thanksgiving UNTIL THIS YEAR.  And when I locked our front door at PJP Buttonwood around 7 this evening, I'll admit to being more than a little self-satisfied with our hard work today.  Me, on the way to the car, because nobody puts Baby in the corner...

All joking aside, we all worked so hard today.  Team PJP simply outdid themselves during a marathon 12 hours of baking, phone answering, customer assisting, and more.  I could speculate on a lot of small things that made a big difference this year, but I think that overall we work well together and we all knew exactly what to expect in these days leading up to the biggest pie holiday of the year.  Today reminded me a bit of when you see a team of surgeons and nurses practice for a complex and lengthy surgery so that they all know their roles and what to expect...we were prepared like that (except pie is thankfully not a life-and-death situation, whew).

(Watch me say all that and tomorrow we fall completely off the rails.  I will tell you that I was the only one that didn't eat the lunch we had brought in today just in case everyone contracted food poisoning from it and we needed one person to carry us through Wednesday night.  And that is just as ridiculous as it sounds, I promise.  Would now be the time to tell you this week keeps me fairly tightly wound?)

Thankfully, as we've progressed today, so has our Kickstarter campaign.  Just a few days in, we have raised $1,763...which is 9% of our funding goal.  Holla to the people who have so generously pledged to the #BuyThatTruck campaign since we launched on Thursday.  (As a side note, I sent out an email blast through Square marketing and they made the subject line "Exciting News for 2016!" and I don't even know how that happened because I didn't have the opportunity to name it.  So if you were one that received that email, know that we did some big things in 2016...but we are thinking even bigger for 2018.  Also?  The Square marketing templates are dead to me.)

We have a donation jar at pie pickup this week and if you drop in cash, you are eligible to enter a drawing for a $50 PJP gift card.  We'll draw a winner on Wednesday evening and donate everything collected to the Kickstarter campaign.  Before 2018, Square.
