2/2/22

We have some SUPER exciting news to share, so hold on to your hats and take a seat before reading further.

Go ahead. I’ll wait.

Ready?

PJP West End will open on WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 2ND. Finally. Whew. That felt like it took a hot minute.

(Also, please, please, please take note of the 2/2/2022 date. Love it.)

Here’s all the questions:

  1. Finally? Finally.

  2. Like, seriously? Yep. Apparently so.

  3. Chances of sooner? We have final city inspections scheduled for next week. I’m willing to bet most anything that there will be SOMETHING that needs adjusted, moved, fixed, changed, altered, added, subtracted, rewired, or reconfigured based on the whim of the city inspector or the health department. Let us harken back to the “oh, you need three hand washing sinks in this space because that seems better than two” revelation of PJP Nifong at final inspection.

  4. How many hand washing sinks at PJP West End? Three. I learn quickly.

  5. Is there a lot to finish in the space? Construction build out is 99% complete. But decorating It, merchandising it, and stocking it with supplies still needs to be done.

  6. Who has since it besides you, Jeanne, Jason, and kids? Literally no one. I feel like with PJP Nifong, we had multiple visitors and lots of walking over from PJP Buttonwood to visit during the construction. Now because of the distance between the two stores, plus how busy we are, our visits have been minimal.

  7. A Wednesday seems like a weird choice? Well, Wednesday currently tends to be our most predictable day of the week. I’ve gotten good at estimating our general sales volume and that seems to be a safe place to start. Also, again, let’s not sleep on the whole “there’s never 2/2/22 much pie in Columbia” angle.

  8. Scared? Woof. Terrified.

  9. Did you know that is Groundhog Day? HECK YES. It won’t even matter if Phil sees his shadow because Columbia will see pie, for sure.
