Jeanne-ology: You Aren't Wrong

It’s Thursday and that means Jeanne is here to share her perspective of PJP this week. It was a doozy of a week on the entrepreneurship side of things. I’m always thankful I have her input, wisdom, and experience when I’m faced with new things. She’s the best that way. Enjoy! Rebecca

Hello Thursday Readers!  Another week has almost passed and that makes me think we are getting closer to opening the state.  I am so happy that Governor Parsons has finally given us a date of May 4th for re-opening.  Parks will be re-opened along with other local stores that I have missed visiting.  Hopefully, life will return to some normal routine.  Maybe the news will not be saturated with the pandemic.  We need good news to give us hope and inspire us to move ahead. (Rebecca editing to add: What she is really saying is that she had me text our hair person within 10 minutes of the governor’s announcement to make sure we were on her schedule.)

Enough of the pandemic.  My grandson will come in tomorrow to make dough, thank goodness!  He seems to think that it is no big deal and doesn't realize how much it helps the whole shop when he makes 15 to 20 buckets of dough.  Such a peace of mind to know we are fully stocked!  He is so different than my granddaughter.  He comes in and immediately gets to work.  He doesn't chat with the staff, he has a mission to accomplish.  He never takes a break and doesn't stop until he is finished with the task.  I admire that about him.  Give him a mission and it is accomplished.  (Rebecca editing to add: He is just like her that way. She comes in and works and doesn’t spend all the time chatting that I do. And when they are both ready to go, they don’t linger…they just are done.)

We did another pandemic pie tasting today.  We were fast and efficient and had all the packages ready to be picked up.  I am impressed we have finally executed the procedure.  Everyone seems to enjoy our pandemic style pie tasting and we will keep having these type of tasting parties as long as there is a demand. (Rebecca editing to add: GOODNESS, I would hope on our fourth week in a row that we are finally efficient. That said, making a quadruple batch of any Pinterest recipe is always a challenge.)

We also did a new TicTok video today.  I actually participated by dancing to a routine with Anna and Emma.  It took me a few tries to get the moves right.  When we were finished, one of our staff  people asked why I looked so serious? (Rebecca editing to add: You know you will do anything for your business when you dance on TikTok.)

I was so focused on getting the right moves!  The two staff people are young and limber.  I am old and stiff. But they had great patience with me and we finally got a final take.  We will see how many views we get.  What I found interesting was the customers in the shop that watched us film.  They laughed along with us on the many takes we took, mainly because I was trying to stay in step.  At this age, I have no shame left! (Rebecca editing to add: I was working in the office and had no idea they filmed in front of customers…that’s brave. It’s pretty cute - we will post it tomorrow.)

PJP has stayed busy because of you.  Thank you so much!   You have have motivated us, kept us moving, inspired us, given us hope, and helped develop a can do attitude.  Our employees are thankful to have a job and a paycheck.  You have given us a reason to get up in the morning.  How can we ever thank you?  I really don't know,  a simple thank you seems lame.  Believe me when Rebecca and I are so very grateful for your support!
