Valentine's Day Primer

Like everyone else - and all business owners that I know - I’m 100% not here for the snow in the forecast tomorrow. These days leading up to Valentine’s Day are always exceptionally busy for us, so I’ll take a hard pass on three to five inches of snow and subzero temperatures.

Here’s a round up of current and upcoming news:

  1. Thursday night is our first annual Galentine’s Epic Pie Tasting. It sold out in less than 30 minutes and everyone keeps asking for a second date option, but Galentine’s Day is only on February 13th, so…we will announce a March tasting date later this month. (Also, have you noticed that Galentine’s Day has become a legit thing and is everywhere this year. I’m here for it.)

  2. On Friday, Emily from Sugarberry Blooms will be at PJP Nifong from 10 am to 3 pm with her annual Valentine’s Day floral pop-up. When Emily visits us, it is seriously one of my favorite days ever. Not only does she make me super happy because she’s the best, her flower arrangements are AMAZING. I can’t wait to see everything she has been working on. If you are hopeful to receive flowers on Friday, forward this blog post directly to the person in charge of purchasing.

  3. We are still taking orders for Pie Pops (and well, for regular pie as well) for pickup on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. They are so darn cute that I even put in an order for my own children, which is sort of ridiculous because they can eat pie whenever…though we are generally always discussing pie and that sometimes skews their demand for it. But seriously, the pie pops are adorable. Our lead fruit baker Emma really enjoys the process and creativity of making them and it shows.

  4. And perhaps you saw on our social media a Raspberry Key Lime pie that Summer did with a heart design all the way around the pie. I likely couldn’t draw hearts on a key lime pie with raspberry sauce if my very life depended on it, so I’m always so pleased and amazed by how creative Team PJP can be when thinking of new ideas. She’s been making them all week, but pre-order is a good idea for this busy weekend.

  5. And finally, because we love to lean into a good theme, we are having a lot of fun on Leap Day this year by selling tarts for $2.29 each. Our bagged tarts normally retail for $4, so this is a deal (and even less than what we sold them for on National Pie Day). We are going to make 2,020 and see how it goes. See what we did there? 2020 tarts for $2.29? Gah…makes me so happy to be so on brand for us. Put it in your calendar now.
