Super Glam

If you’ve seen any member of our family lately, it has likely been on a baking table at either Nifong or West. Or on a register at Nifong or West. Or doing afternoon tasks at Nifong or West. In short, we’ve been filling holes in the schedule on a daily basis because our lives are super glamorous.

But in the interim, here’s what else is going on:

  1. Since West Is now a year old, this is the first look we’ve gotten at a full comparison of a two store February 2022 and a two store February 2023. Thankfully it went well, but I would bet no less than 90% of the conversations between Jason and I in February were about sales and metrics.

  2. Actually, competing with yourself is exhausting. I said earlier today that I wish I could take my brain out of my skull and put it in a jar for 12 hours as a factory reset of sorts. Occasionally, I get tired of my own self.

  3. But there is no time for resting but we are just 13 days away from one of our biggest days of the year…National Pi(e) Day. We are the national sponsors, so we have some serious work ahead of us. As in previous years, we will offer $3.14 off all dessert pies. New this year, the first 25 people in line at both stores will have the opportunity to use the discount on savory pies.

  4. The pie of the month for March is Gooseberry…mainly because it’s green and a flavor that most new customers inquire about. Our February pie tasting was a week late last month and Jason just had the time today to do a full analysis of the results. The winner was Lemon Blueberry Chess and will be the pie of the month for May. (We already have a fun plan for our birthday month pie in April.)

  5. The losing pie? Rhubarb Custard. RHUBARB CUSTARD. It averaged 2.34 out of 5 and are you really surprised? I started to say that Rhubarb is just a weird fruit, but then I’m the one that picked Gooseberry for March, so what the heck do I know? (Unless you love tart things, then I’m a total genius, right?)
