Jeanne-ology: It Always Is

This week flew right by at PJP. I didn’t intend to fall off the grid for most of this week, but every day was packed full of different things and here we are. Thankfully, Jeanne is here to give a wrap up on the week. Enjoy! Rebecca

Hello Thursday Readers! Another week has passed and with some beautiful weather! Our dog, Sister, has been so happy basking in the sun on the patio. My husband is happy to see the sunshine and so am I. (Rebecca editing to add: I especially enjoyed the open windows at my house. It’s my favorite part of spring.)

There is a lot going at the pie shop. A lot of shipping this week and $5 Friday tomorrow! It will be a really busy day for all of us. I really don't have idea what I will be walking into in the morning, because I took today off. With the sunlight shining through my windows, I knew I had to do some deep cleaning. Whew, the things you miss when it is cloudy outside is amazing. I dusted picture frames, cleaned the baseboards and cleaned the doors - they are white and show everything! All this along with mopping the floors, cleaning the bathrooms, and laundry! Tomorrow cannot be as taxing as what I went through today. (Rebecca editing to add: Hmmm. Let’s hope.)

We are offering a huge pie selection for $5 Friday. The last $5 Friday we made a lot of pies, but not as much selection as we plan to offer tomorrow. Please come by and stock up pies, they freeze beautifully, and a great buy so you can try pie flavors that you might not have tried. (Rebecca editing to add: I think our final number is around the same, but instead of doing so many of our top sellers, we did a smaller quantity of more options.)

Our new washer and dryer has finally arrived! Rebecca pushed for us to do this and it saves a bunch on expenses! The only obstacle I face is doing the laundry. I am picky about how to wash, dry and fold the aprons. I want the aprons folded neatly, as well as the towels. The morning staff staff starts the laundry and the afternoon staff dry the laundry. I also hate a messy laundry room! In the morning I will be able to see how the linens are folded and what condition the laundry room is in. Lord help me keep calm if things don't meet my expectations! (Rebecca editing to add: We had our regular health inspection today. We received zero demerits, but I almost wanted to call Jeanne in hysterics and tell her we had failed spectacularly just to see how fast she would arrive at PJP to inspect for herself. In the end, I decided it was just too much for her.)

Tomorrow will be interesting. (Rebecca editing to add: It always is.)
