February

There’s literally no one happier to see January end than literally EVERY SINGLE RETAIL STORE OWNER IN THE WORLD. And me.

And look, January was just fine. It just felt awful in comparison to November and December. I just need a fair amount of chaos to thrive and January is long on days and short on chaos. But here is a recap of noteworthy items:

  1. The February pie of the month is Strawberry French Silk. Basically, it is our French Silk pie with the whipped cream from our White Chocolate Strawberry. It won the January pie tasting easily and for good reason - it’s delicious (and pretty too).

  2. If you are curious, in second place was a Coconut Banana with Malibu Rum whipped cream. In third place was a Fireball Whiskey Pumpkin. Fourth place went to the Elvis Peanut Butter Banana pie. In fifth was a Winter Berry (blueberry, blackberry, and cherry.) Dead last was an Ozark Pudding pie, which was apparently a favorite of Bess Truman’s. I didn’t try it but it looked like scalloped potatoes, so no surprises it was last.

  3. For all my disdain of January, February makes up for it. There’s the Super Bowl, Valentine’s Day, February Epic Pie Tasting, and some other fun ideas we have for the month.

  4. Our social media post about Andy Reid’s excitement over our Kansas City Chiefs Raspberry Key Lime pie reached over 100,000 Facebook accounts in two days.. And that is sort of crazy, given it had no context and was really just for our followers that know us well.

  5. If you can believe it, PJP West End turns one next week. ONE. We couldn’t be more proud of the addition of West to our family. Best decision ever. Which is noteworthy since this last time last year it felt like the scariest decision ever.
